Carolinas Wind Orchestra
The Carolinas Wind Orchestra was founded in January, 1996 under the name Olde English Wind Ensemble. The name was changed in 2005 to more accurately express the size and structure of the current ensemble. During its 16 year history, the band has performed throughout the globe as an ambassador for music performance, education and entertainment. Membership in the ensemble is earned through competitive auditions held each August and January. The current current member roster numbers 112 performers who reside in the greater Charlotte, North and South Carolina area, and/or who are students majoring in music at Winthrop University, Rock Hill, South Carolina.
