Fun Arts Afterschool

The FAA workshop combines the fine arts with academic lessons that meets the Common Core Standards and NC Essential Standards, in order to develop a 1-5 minute sketch comedy skits for our upcoming television show. The workshop helps students to develop social skills and it teaches them teamwork, through sharing ideas and through the participation of group activities. FAA workshop students also discover ways for better self-expression and use creative functions that foster brain development.

Our curriculum includes:

 

ACTING - Students learn acting skills including the Meisner Technique of "acting truthfully in the moment," movement for stage/film, physical warm-ups, audition technique, and Practice cold reading

WRITING - Students research their stories, develop the narrative, write a script, and deliver it

DIRECTING - Students create storyboards, learn camera angles & shots, adjust lighting, and set blocking

DANCE - Students are introduced to various styles of dance, ranging from ballet to hip hop

MUSIC - Students are introduced to the skill of playing various instruments and they explore all genres of music

CULINARY - Students learn to create unique food platters with everyday, at-home ingredients
