Clayworks, Inc.
As the only non-profit ceramics studio in the area, Clayworks serves four major constituencies: professional artists, adult and youth in-house students, and participants in our Community Engagement Programs off-site. Clayworks is dedicated to providing opportunities for creativity by and artistic exchange among its participants, and to leaving a positive impact on the surrounding community. Uniting these goals within a strong ceramics program makes Clayworks a unique contributor to many facets of the community. Clayworks’ teaching artists have observed how working with clay positively affects students in their daily lives: strengthening creative problem solving, increasing a desire to learn, and a sense of wellbeing and pride in workmanship. Clayworks is committed, through its Community Engagement Programs, to providing these opportunities to diverse audiences at the neighborhood level. The resulting sense of belonging and accomplishment becomes an inspiration for achievement in other aspects of one’s life.
