Upstream Restaurant
Before opening in Charlotte's Phillips Place near SouthPark Mall in 2000, Charlotteans had not yet been spoiled on the secrets of "dayboat" seafood. Harper's Restaurant Group Chef Tom Condron created a menu with an unheard of variety of the freshest possible seafood.
Esquire's John Mariani named Upstream one of the best new restaurants in the U.S. that same year and Zagat subsequently name Upstream Charlotte's most popular restaurant.
With a Dirona designation and a Wine Spectator 'Best Wine List' award, Upstream is known as one of Charlotte's best restaurants.
