Whistling Swan

Through the years my avid interest in our country's heritage...antiques hand made by our forefathers eventually, culminated into the establishment in 1991 of The Country Room. Originally the shop was focused on early hand made American furniture with some additions of folk art.
In search of quality reproduction accessories to compliment my own home, and with no local shop offering these, I resorted to magazines to find them. An appreciation and excitement of these works, in combination of my interest in antiques, inspired me to open a shop to make these accessible to others.

After a few years the shop evolved into the introduction of more reproductions and folk art. In 1999, to reflect this, the name was changed to Whistling Swan. It was very positive and opened more possibilities for growth of the shop.

The warmth of the Whistling Swan and array of the antiques, reproductions and folk art, combined with the charm of the historic village of Davidson, will certainly be a pleasant experience and keep you coming again!
