Bloco Afro Ayedun

Bloco Afro Ayédùn honors Black heritage in the Charlotte community through music, dance, visual and culinary arts. Our participants learn the historical and cultural contextualization of Black arts as they practice an array of rhythms, songs, and movements. We share a variety of Black culture from the African Diaspora. All dances and music have been staples of resistance and resilience in Black communities globally.

During the workshops, participants will study and practice dance and rhythms of African American Ring Shout, Samba roots, African-Brazilian Orixá dance and music, Palo Mayombe, Samba Afro and Samba Reggae.
