Rhythm of Our Conversations
Rhythms of Our Conversations is geared towards allowing 8-17-year-olds to experience music in a classroom-like setting without any financial investment. Offering a judgment-free zone for creativity by drawing on students' natural rhythms and interests engages community participation in the classroom. Through body percussion, spoken word, and movement, this program centers on the populations within Mecklenburg County where English is a primary or secondary language as a way to incorporate the sounds of culture into the music classroom.
