The Charlotte Center for the Humanities & Civic Imagination

The Charlotte Center for the Humanities & Civic Imagination is a community forum and civic action catalyst that invites people into meaningful connection and problem-solving informed by deep consideration of the human experience. Our mission is to strengthen democracy by inspiring and equipping people to engage in enlightened civic action. Our programs leverage the humanities, imagination, technology, story-telling, and conversation in an integrated way to fulfill our mission. Our key programs are SenseMaker, a community outreach initiative that combines personal storytelling and statistics to form a picture of a larger community’s story; Wisdom Wednesday and The Forum, which are speaker and conversation series that connect deep questions about the human experience with the civic enterprise; and The Accelerator, which helps people turn civic ideas into action.
