Purple Charlotte Steppers

Purple Charlotte Steppers is a health and wellness organization that uses dance to provide preventative care as it relates to cardiovascular health, diabetic management, obesity and mental health. Purple Charlotte Steppers has been a community partner with the local government and religious communities since 2005.

We specialize in group line dancing, Charlotte-Style Ballroom and Chicago Steppin' using our established curriculum created by Master Instructor, Demond Carter. The Purple Charlotte Steppers team engages participants in leading and following dance techniques as well as etiquette and medium impact movement.

The positive impacts of our program include the following:

  • Reduces stress and depression
  • Increases energy and serotonin levels
  • Improves flexibility, strength, balance and endurance
  • Increases mental capacity by exercising cognitive processes 
  • Dynamic and rapid-fire decision making
