McDowell Arts Center

The "MAC" is a dedicated space for the Arts!  

The former "Agriculture Building" was built in the 1920s as an extension of the old Matthews High School.  In 2008 the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System  transferred the building to the Town.

The facility hosts classes and programs, as well as gallery space.  The McDowell Arts Center is also the home to KidzArt and the Matthews Artists Guild!
