ASC Public Art Trail

The Celebrate ASC Public Art Trail, created in partnership with Art Walks CLT, is a tour of public artworks in Charlotte-Mecklenburg that represent artists’ collaboration with community. The 18 artworks included in the trail are a mix of Mecklenburg County- and City of Charlotte-funded projects.
ASC manages the public art programs for the City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County. Allocations for public artworks come from the City's and the County’s one percent for art ordinances. That means that whenever there are new capital investment projects, ranging from new and renovated buildings to parks and street improvements, one percent of eligible capital improvement project funds is set aside for public art associated with these projects.
The Public Art Commission is responsible for the community-based artist selection and design review process for each public artwork.
