2023-2024 Teacher Workday Mini Camps (Grades K-6)

Matthews Playhouse is pleased to announce the return of the popular Teacher Workday Mini-Camps for the 2023-2024 Academic Year. These one-day mini camps happen in conjunction with most teacher workdays and some holidays on the Charlotte-Mecklenburg and Union County school calendar. Join us for a day of singing, dancing, acting and crafting!

Cost: $80 per student
9:00am to 3:00pm
Sessions available for Grades K-3 & Grades 4-6

• Superheroes- September 25, 2023 - Come save the day as legendary heroes from across the Superhero Universe! Protect civilians as Batman, Spiderman, and Thor! Or, be an agent of chaos as characters like Thanos, Joker and Harley Quinn!

•  Finding Nemo- October 16, 2023- We are swimming to 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney in this special Finding Nemo mini camp! Campers will have so much fun singing, dancing and acting to this beloved movie but they also get to see the stage musical here at Matthews Playhouse at 9:30! Tickets are included in the price of the mini camp!

• Hamilton/Election Day! - November 7, 2023- It’s time to vote for fun with our election day mini camp for K - 3rd Grade. Campers will have so much fun exploring election themed activities and songs. 4th - 6th graders will have a Hamilton themed mini camp, celebrating a founder father who never had a chance to be president.

• Wizard World - January 25, 2024- You’re a wizard, kid! Explore the magic and mystery of Witchcraft and Wizardry! Get sorted into a wizard house and win points for your team! We will create scenes and craft our own magic wand and spells in this one day adventure!

• Around the World in One Day! - February 19, 2024- We're globe trotting around the world in this special international camp! Campers will act in scenes being adventurers and learn choreography to music from around the world! They will also get the special opportunity to have a special tour of the set of “Around The World in 80 Days” happening at Matthews Playhouse!

• Just Dance! - March 29, 2024- Just Dance! The game is in the name. Spend your day dancing in this mini-camp! Campers can expect to have fun following on screen dances and learning a dance from a real choreographer! No experience required!
