VOX

Founded in 2007, semi-professional choir VOX has collaborated with innumerable artists and communities across the Carolinas, most recently with world-renowned tenor Andrea Bocelli. Other notable collaborators include Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Kathy Mattea, Opera Carolina in numerous performances, the North Carolina Baroque Orchestra in the world-premiere recording of Antonio Lotti's Gloria No. 1 in C, WTVI Public Television, and many more.​

Conductor David J. Tang is the director of VOX and its parent organization, Firebird Arts Alliance, which brings artists and artistic groups together from all disciplines to collaborate in projects noted for their innovation and excellence. David also produces and conducts performances for Opera Carolina and is Music Director at Sharon Presbyterian Church in Charlotte. He has led Carolina Voices, Oratorio Singers of Charlotte (now the Charlotte Symphony Chorus), and the Choral Arts Society of Philadelphia as well as hundreds of choral, symphonic, opera, and ballet performances throughout the United States. He received his degrees in conducting from Yale and the University of Michigan and has held faculty and conducting staff positions at Davidson College, the Charlotte Symphony, and other other U.S. orchestras . Dr. Tang is an Emmy Award-winning producer for his work on the collaborative TV series "New South Crossings."
