Trickster Tales of Southeastern Native Americans
Presented by Native American Studies Center
The trickster figure appears throughout world folklore. However, the archetype’s oldest and most enduring form is found in Native American stories. Along with issues in retelling the tales, this presentation by Terry Norton, Retired Winthrop University Professor, explores trickster traits in narratives of Indigenous people from the Southeastern United States.
