Godspell

Join The Lotus Project for its inaugural community musical production on December 1 - 3, 2024 at HUG CLT (2920 N. Tryon St) 

Long live the day when all people are not just accepted but celebrated for who they are, hypocrites are condemned, caring for the poor, sick, hungry, and downtrodden is the top priority, and judgment is cast aside. 

These are the themes that are celebrated in Godspell, a show whose main character - played by Kel Wright (she/they) is a progressive, a maker of peace, a flipper of tables, and a homeless immigrant who taught radical change. Godspell is full of eclectic songs ranging from pop to vaudeville to folk by three-time Grammy and Academy Award winner, Stephen Schwartz, and zany characters who tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling and hefty doses of comic timing.  Our cast features 50 performers from 6 - 70 years old, and showcases the diversity of our Charlotte community.
