LEGACY: Music Production Sessions!
LEGACY: Music Production Sessions are adult-friendly instructional workshops sponsored by the Arts and Science Council at the Eastway Regional Recreation Center - Tech Room.
During the course, participants will get first-hand instruction on developing their creativity as a music producer along with learning the technical aspects of music production, including how sound is translated into audio signals, recording techniques, and effects such as reverb, delay, and compression.
Bring your own mobile set up and choice of DAW OR slect to reserve one of the limited workshop laptops with Garageband.
The course overview is as follows:
Week 1 (March 8): The Digital Audio Workstation (DAW)
Lead Instructor: Chris Suter (owner of Gingercat Studios in Fort Mill, SC)
Week 2 (March 15): Exploring MIDI & Software Instruments
Lead Instructor: Chris Suter (owner of Gingercat Studios in Fort Mill, SC)
Week 3 (March 22): Tracking Live Instrumentation
Lead Instructor: Jason Robey (Audio engineer for Sofar Sounds)
Week 4 (March 29): Mixing & Mastering Your Musical Productions
Lead Instructor: Jason Robey (Audio engineer for Sofar Sounds)
Participants can drop in for the weeks that interest them most or attend each week consecutively for community support and Break Out Room exercises.
