Presented by The Delhom Service League @ the Mint Museum
Delhom Service League presents this North Carolina ceramic artist, Shae Bishop, in collaboration with Friends of the Mint
(Delhom Service League is the ceramics affiliate of The Mint Museum.)
Shae Bishop "(tex)TILE-Telling stories with ceramic garments and the body"
With titles of his work like "Shorts to Wear While Looking for Pythons", "Garden Variety Cowboy", and "Eternal Cowboy", Shae Bishop's presentation is bound to be fun and interesting!
Born in a small cabin in Tennessee, Bishop grew up mainly in Louisville, Kentucky where he spent his childhood half at his desk and half in the woods, cultivating his two main passions: art and reptiles. Now, as a ceramic artist, he examines the relationships between ceramics and textiles by making wearable garment-sculptures. He is currently based in North Carolina in the Penland area artist community.
This free program includes a wine reception and social in the atrium at 6:00. Shae Bishop will speak at 6:30 in the Van Every Auditorium, Mint Museum Randolph, with COVID protocols in place. 2730 Randolph Rd. Charlotte, NC 28207
