Join us Sunday, May 6 from 2pm-6pm for Hello Huntersville, the town’s annual music and arts festival! Multi-cultural performances will be center stage for 2018 as follows: 2-2:45pm / N. Meck HS & Alexander Middle School Orchestras, 2:45-3:00p / Dance LKN, 3-4pm / The Connick School of Irish Dance, 4-5pm / Aloha Island Hula Girls, 5-5:30p / North Meck Community Chorus, 5:30-6p / Bach 2 Rock Huntersville. Join Drums 4 Life from 2-6pm to learn how to play in a drumming circle. Aloha Island Hula Girls will be roaming the event grounds from 5-6pm teaching the crowd how to hula dance, limbo, and to take pictures. Bach to Rock will be letting the community try different instruments and interact at their music station.
Calling all ages! Come help design multiple art projects for the local Huntersville community! These murals & interactive pieces will be made at Hello Huntersville with help from all ages of the community and be placed where Huntersville can continue to enjoy what they helped create! Make a marble installation with Charlotte artist Lee Baumgarten. Piece together an interactive installation with Bree Stallings. Place mosaic tiles to form a mosaic picture of Veterans Park with Teresa Hollmeyer. Help create a mural with Red Calaca Mobile Art Studio. Free art activities can be found with Stephen Lursen, and Clayworks. Aerial CLT will be performing aerial acts from grounded rigs. Regional art vendors will display their talents throughout the streets selling their artistic mediums in wood, glass, art, clay, jewelry, and more.
Stop by the interactive STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) activities provided by local STEM businesses. Local schools will be displaying their students’ artwork and creating live demos of projects at the event. Find free activities including roaming jugglers, hoop dancers, ribbon dancers, living statue. strolling puppeteers, face painting, henna tattoos, bounce house, wall climb, slide, obstacle course, and more!
Food from Smokey J’s, Old Buddy’s Oinker, Taco Green Go, Carolina Smash Truck, Fun Oh Cakes, Kool Cat Ice Cream, cheese fries by Sons of American Legion Squadron 321, popcorn by LKN Teen Council, and pretzels by LKN Kiwanis Club, is available for purchase. Purchase wine from Dover Vineyards or beer from Crafty Beer Guys & Eleven Lakes Brewing.
Parking for the event will be located at the following places: Town Center Parking Garage 105 Gilead Road, Huntersville Elementary 200 Gilead Road, Robert B. Blythe Building 102 Gilead Road, First Baptist Church of Huntersville 121 N. Old Statesville Road.
